News That Proves We’re Screwed – The Fall of The Republic UPDATED

30 Aug

The corrupt shadow government is unveiled a little more each week.

Two Cheers for Syrian Islamists (ForeignPolicy.com)

It is not a secret that the U.S. government is funding Syrian rebels, who include members of Al Qaeda, but this may be the first time they have openly called for “two cheers” in praise of the radical Islamic Jihadists fighting against the Assad regime. I find it odd that the title is so complimentary, yet in the article it specifically says, “Of course, Syrian Islamists are no friends of the United States–merely the enemies of one of its enemies.” This is like smiling while delivering horrible news of betrayal. When I read that, I got this picture in my head of a woman smiling as she says to her friend “Let’s go celebrate your marriage with ice cream! Of course, your husband is cheating on you.” Backwards is forwards, up is down, wrong is right, logic is insanity.

Bill Gross: “Normal” Economic Growth Impossible Now (moneymorning.com)

“Legendary market maven Bill Gross, the so-called “King of Bonds,” said investors will flat-out lose money if they continue employing the “buy and hold” strategies of the past.

“In his August Investment Outlook, Gross told investors that “financial repression, QEs of all sorts and sizes” and low interest rates will “dominate the timescape” for decades, maybe longer.

Investors must adjust to the new world order to avoid being the loser in this zero-growth environment, Gross warned.

“Ultimately, Gross said, the stock market’s historical, inflation-adjusted 6.6% annual growth rate is unsustainable.

“Gross, of course, is a bond man.

“In March, he launched an ETF version of his popular Pimco Total Return Fund (PTTRX) – the world’s biggest mutual fund, with more than $260 billion in assets. The Pimco Total Return ETF (NYSE: BOND) quickly attracted $2.1 billion in total deposits and has outpaced the S&P 500 by more than 5% so far.

“But even bonds – both government-backed and corporate – can’t escape the realities of a no-growth economy.

According to global economic trend forecaster Chris Martenson, a former VP of a Fortune 300 company, the historical growth rates investors have come to expect – in every asset class – are no longer mathematically possible.

“Right now, there are dangerous economic constraints,” he said, “mainly created by failed government policies, which show exponential growth in our markets is impossible.”

Exclusive: U.S. banks told to make plans for preventing collapse | Reuters (chicagotribune.com)

(Reuters) – U.S. regulators directed five of the country’s biggest banks, including Bank of America Corp and Goldman Sachs Group Inc, to develop plans for staving off collapse if they faced serious problems, emphasizing that the banks could not count on government help.

The two-year-old program, which has been largely secret until now, is in addition to the “living wills” the banks crafted to help regulators dismantle them if they actually do fail. It shows how hard regulators are working to ensure that banks have plans for worst-case scenarios and can act rationally in times of distress.

Brandon J. Raub, Former Marine, Detained After Anti-Government Facebook Postings (Huffington Post)

Marine Veteran Brandon Raub Sentenced To Up To 30 Days In Psych Ward Over Facebook Posts (businessinsider.com)

Excerpt:

“Lawyers from The Rutherford Institute represented Brandon Raub during the three-hour hearing today at the John Randolph Medical Center and released a statement, saying Raub has been ordered to “up to 30 days’ further confinement in a VA psych ward” after “government officials againpointed to Raub’s Facebook posts as the sole reason for their concern and for his continued incarceration.”

“According to Raub’s mother, authorities from the FBI, Secret Service and Chesterfield County PD came to their door on Thursday evening, questioned Raub about his Facebook posts, then handcuffed him and placed him in a Chesterfield PD squad car before taking him to John Randolph Psychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Va.”

“Both the FBI and Secret Service said Raub was not arrested or charged, but the Rutherford Institute statement points out that “if the police have put handcuffs on you and you’re being held against your will, that qualifies as an arrest.”

Obama Authorized US Support For Syrian Rebels Being Aided By Al Qaeda, Old News

2 Aug

As I reported on May 15 in “U.S. Aiding Syrian Rebels, Al Qaeda Aiding Syrian Rebels, Syria Says US Allied to Terrorists,” the U.S. has been backing the Syrian opposition. Reuters reported Wednesday August 1, that Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support to the rebels to overthrow the Assad regime.

acus.org

In the May 15 article, I left out the fact that wikileaks revealed cables indicating the U.S. has been funding Syrian rebels since 2005, which has continued under Obama. This past Monday July 30, The Guardian reported that Al Qaeda members are fighting with the Free Syrian Army, the same rebels funded by western governments to overthrow the Assad regime, who has been accused of committing human atrocities. It has not been a secret that the U.S. is aiding terrorists in Syria to further the middle east regime change agenda, as one can see from the many links in The Time Times May 15 article linked at the beginning of this post.

If the allegations of torture and mass killings are true, one must wonder how the current Syrian government has been in power so long with so little common sense as to drastically increase the torture and killing  of its own innocent men, women and children when the U.S. is making moves indicating another step will be made to remove Assad, a goal that has existed for years, and when the western media is fully focused on the conflict.

The foreign policy focusing on overthrowing leaders not complimentary to completing the U.S. government’s goals comes from “The Kissinger plan” of the 1970s, the plan to destabilize the middle east, which was admitted to General Wesley Clark in part in 1991, and fully revealed to him in 2001 when he learned of the goal to attack seven countries in five years.  In a 2007 piece from The New Yorker called “The Annals of National Security: The Redirection,” Seymour Hersh reveals:

“…the Saudi government, with Washington’s approval, would provide funds and logistical aid to weaken the government of President Bashir Assad, of Syria. The Israelis believe that putting such pressure on the Assad government will make it more conciliatory and open to negotiations. Syria is a major conduit of arms to Hezbollah. The Saudi government is also at odds with the Syrians over the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese Prime Minister, in Beirut in 2005, for which it believes the Assad government was responsible. Hariri, a billionaire Sunni, was closely associated with the Saudi regime and with Prince Bandar. (A U.N. inquiry strongly suggested that the Syrians were involved, but offered no direct evidence; there are plans for another investigation, by an international tribunal.)

In regards to Syria, Hersh also says in the 2007 article:

“A former high-ranking CIA officer told me, ‘The Americans have provided both political and financial support. The Saudis are taking the lead with financial support, but there is American involvement.’ He said that Khaddam, who now lives in Paris, was getting money from Saudi Arabia with the knowledge of the White House.”

In the Reuters article from August 1 about Obama secretly authorizing aid for Syrian rebels, it states the Obama administration has yet to give the rebels actual weapons, but they have aided in intelligence, communication, monetary funding, and some media has reported military training, while other western allies are arming the opposition directly.  According to The Guardian, Al Qaeda member Abu Khuder says his fellow fighters “are working closely with the military council that commands the Free Syrian Army brigades in the region.”
“We meet almost every day,” he said. “We have clear instructions from our [al-Qaida] leadership that if the FSA need our help we should give it. We help them with IEDs and car bombs. Our main talent is in the bombing operations. Abu Khuder’s men had a lot of experience in bomb-making from Iraq and elsewhere, he added.
Abu Khuder had been an officer in Camel Corps, a border force fighting the regime, but he grew tired of the rebels’ disorganization and ineptness at attacking the regime. According to Khuder, dedicated and orderly Islamist fighters from a neighboring village extended their assistance to the Camel Corps in Mohassen. They contacted an expert from Damascus for help, and within two days they had delivered the rebels a truck containing two tons of explosives. The Islamist fighters detonated the bomb close to the gate of a base, left town the next day, and Mohassen was free.

Village elder and the commander of the local FSA brigade, Saleem Abu Yassir, said of the Al Qaeda opposition:
“Are they good fighters? he threw the question rhetorically into the room. “Yes, they are, but they have a problem with executions. They capture a soldier and they put a pistol to his head and shoot him. We have religious courts and we have to try people before executing them. This abundance of killing is what we fear. We fear they are trying to bring us back to the days of Iraq and we have seen what that achieved there have been.”

Al-Qaida turns tide for rebels in battle for eastern Syria | The Guardian

31 Jul

From TheGuardian.com “Al-Qaida turns tide for rebels in battle for eastern Syria”

“In his latest exclusive dispatch from Deir el-Zour province, Ghaith Abdul-Ahad meets fighters who have left the Free Syrian Army for the discipline and ideology of global jihad.”

“As they stood outside the commandeered government building in the town of Mohassen, it was hard to distinguish Abu Khuder’s men from any other brigade in the Syrian civil war, in their combat fatigues, T-shirts and beards.

But these were not average members of the Free Syrian Army. Abu Khuder and his men fight for al-Qaida. They call themselves the ghuraba’a, or “strangers”, after a famous jihadi poem celebrating Osama bin Laden’s time with his followers in the Afghan mountains, and they are one of a number of jihadi organisations establishing a foothold in the east of the country now that the conflict in Syria has stretched well into its second bloody year.

They try to hide their presence. “Some people are worried about carrying the [black] flags,” said Abu Khuder. “They fear America will come and fight us. So we fight in secret. Why give Bashar and the west a pretext?” But their existence is common knowledge in Mohassen. Even passers-by joke with the men about car bombs and IEDs.

According to Abu Khuder, his men are working closely with the military council that commands the Free Syrian Army brigades in the region. “We meet almost every day,” he said. “We have clear instructions from our [al-Qaida] leadership that if the FSA need our help we should give it. We help them with IEDs and car bombs. Our main talent is in the bombing operations.” Abu Khuder’s men had a lot of experience in bomb-making from Iraq and elsewhere, he added.

Abu Khuder spoke later at length. He reclined on a pile of cushions in a house in Mohassen, resting his left arm which had been hit by a sniper’s bullet and was wrapped in plaster and bandages. Four teenage boys kneeled in a tight crescent in front of him, craning their necks and listening with awe. Other villagers in the room looked uneasy.”

Infectious Disease Expert Gives Insight on Flu Vaccine in New Novel, We Should Pay Attention

26 Jul

Ebola virus. From wikipedia.

When I read this article about Dr. Tim Kuberski’s new book “The Trembling Flu” based on his experiences in the field as an infectious disease expert and clinician, I immediately thought of a book I am currently reading called “The Final Jihad.” Four years prior to the OKC bombing, it was written by Martin Keating, brother of Frank Keating, the Oklahoma City Mayor at the time of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

Under Reagan, Frank Keating was appointedto serve as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and later was elevated to United States Associate Attorney General, making Keating the third ranking official in the justice and treasury departments, and highest ranking Oklahoman during the Reagan administration, overseeing many agencies, such as United States Customs Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the United States Marshals service, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, all 94 United States Attorneys, the United States role in Interpol and the United States Secret Service. Keating was also the highest ranking Oklahoman in the federal government under President George H.W. Bush. Apparently, because of Keating’s connections, his brother Martin was privy to confidential documents that he then used to write his prophetic story.

In The Final Jihad, Martin Keating writes about a key terrorist in his fictional novel named Tom McVey, and at one point in the story McVey is pulled over for a broken tail light by an Oklahoma highway patrolman.  Coincidentally, on the morning of the OKC bombing, Timothy McVeigh was pulled over by a state trooper for a missing license plate.

From goodread.com

The Final Jihad is a prophetic blueprint, a warning of horrifying upcoming acts of terrorism targeted against the United States. It’s a wake-up call no one should ignore.

The Final Jihad brings readers, for the first time, actual intelligence gathered by espionage operatives worldwide. It has been fashioned into a blockbuster novel by Martin Keating, who employs “predictive analysis” of classified information-the same technique used by government security agencies to anticipate terrorist assaults. The plans, strategies, and assassination techniques of the terror masters in this book are real. Their chemical and biological tools of destruction are real. And their ever-increasing threat to our survival is real.

If Keating was able to formulate accurate predictions just by viewing documents, think what a specialist that has worked in the infectious disease field could bring to light. I have seen some interesting news articles regarding disease and outbreaks. Besides the various news reports on infectious disease, there was also the 2010 Rockefeller paper predictions of pandemic. I suppose we’ll just have to watch and see if Dr. Kuberski’s novel becomes a reality.

“Scenarios for the Future of Technology and International Development

In 2012, the pandemic that the world had been anticipating for years finally hit. Unlike 2009’s H1N1, this new influenza strain — originating from wild geese — was extremely virulent and deadly. Even the most pandemic-prepared nations were quickly overwhelmed when the virus streaked around the world, infecting nearly 20 percent of the global population and killing 8 million in just seven months, the majority of them healthy young adults. The pandemic also had a deadly effect on economies: international mobility of both people and goods screeched to a halt, debilitating industries like tourism and breaking global supply chains…”
“The pandemic blanketed the planet — though disproportionate numbers died in Africa,
Southeast Asia, and Central America, where the virus spread like wildfire in the absence
of official containment protocols. But even in developed countries, containment was a challenge. The United States’s initial policy of “strongly discouraging” citizens from flying
proved deadly in its leniency, accelerating the spread of the virus not just within the U.S. but across borders. However, a few countries did fare better — China in particular. The Chinese government’s quick imposition and enforcement of mandatory quarantine for all citizens, as well as its instant and near-hermetic sealing off of all borders, saved millions of lives, stopping the spread of the virus far earlier than in other countries and enabling a swifter postpandemic recovery.”

“China’s government was not the only one that took extreme measures to protect its citizens from risk and exposure. During the pandemic, national leaders around the world flexed their authority and imposed airtight rules and restrictions, from the mandatory wearing of face masks to body-temperature checks at the entries to communal spaces like train stations and supermarkets. Even after the pandemic faded, this more authoritarian control and oversight of citizens and their activities stuck and even intensified. In order to protect themselves from the spread of increasingly global problems — from pandemics and transnational terrorism to environmental crises and rising poverty — leaders around the world took a firmer grip on power.”

“Criminal networks also grew highly skilled at counterfeiting licit goods through reverse engineering. Many of these “rip-offs” and copycats were of poor quality or downright dangerous. In the context of weak health systems, corruption, and inattention to standards — either within countries or from global bodies like the World Health Organization — tainted vaccines entered the public health systems of several African countries. In 2021, 600 children in Cote d’Ivoire died from a bogus Hepatitis B vaccine, which paled in comparison to the scandal sparked by mass deaths from a tainted anti-malarial drug years later. The deaths and resulting scandals sharply affected public confidence in vaccine delivery…”

Mutant bird flu would be airborne, scientists say (cnn.com)

Here’s what it takes to make a deadly virus transmissible through the air: as few as five genetic mutations, according to a new study.

This research, published in the journal Science, is the second of two controversial studies to finally be released that examines how the H5N1 bird flu virus can be genetically altered and transmitted in mammals. Publication of both studies had been delayed many months due to fears that the research could be misused and become a bio-security threat.

“SOME said Ron Fouchier’s work would help fend off a pandemic. Others called it a terrorist’s cookbook. Authorities on either side of the Atlantic spent months examining the research. Now the rest of the world can read it, too. In a paper just published in Science, Dr Fouchier explains how bird flu might adapt to spread easily from person to person. The publication caps a long fight over whether the paper’s benefits outweighed its risks. But this controversy will not be the last.”

With the London Olympics dangerously short on security personnel, organizers have contracted the U. S. Transportation Security Administration to help protect against terrorist attacks during the Games, according to reports late Tuesday.

The news follows a Home Affairs Select Committee hearing where Nick Buckles, head of security firm G4S, admitted his company agreed to provide 10,400 security personnel for the Olympics, but has only hired and trained 4,000.

Congressmen urge the UN to trample the US Constitution – The DailyCaller

President of the United States, Barack Obama, ...

David Petraeus, Commander of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, meet at the NATO Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, Nov. 20. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

“Today begins the most important 26-day period for our Second Amendment freedoms in recent history.

That’s because today, representatives from many of the world’s socialist, tyrannical and dictatorial regimes will gather at United Nations headquarters in New York for a month-long meeting, in which they’ll put the finishing touches on an international Arms Trade Treaty that could seriously restrict your freedom to own, purchase and carry a firearm.

Specifically, the U.N. wants to implement international gun registration requirements, bans on commonly owned firearms, tracking and registration of ammunition purchases, and create a new U.N. gun control bureaucracy.

You might think that something so obviously menacing to one of our enumerated fundamental rights would receive a strong rebuke from our top government leaders. But you’d be wrong. This is President Barack Obama’s vision for America, and we’re expected to just go along with it.

In fact, a group of anti-gun members of the U.S. House of Representatives, led by U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), went so far as to circulate a letter last week to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, in which they “strongly urge the United States to take a leadership role in pushing for a strong, verifiable Arms Trade Treaty.”

These House members insist that the treaty include “controls on a comprehensive list of weaponry, including small arms and light weapons,” as well as controls on ammunition. For good measure, they wrap their unconstitutional demands in the mantle of advancing “human rights” and preventing international violence.

Since when did it become fashionable for sitting members of Congress to lobby international thugs, tyrants and dictators against our own U.S. Constitution?

Rep. Grijalva should consider the plight of good people in countries like the Sudan, where it’s virtually impossible for an average citizen to legally own a firearm for self-defense.

He, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should open their eyes to the unspeakable human rights atrocities that exist in their gun-ban utopia. They ought to see how far their gun-confiscation agenda resonates with hundreds of thousands of defenseless Sudanese men, women and children who live in constant fear of being beaten, raped, sold into slavery or murdered.

It’s easy for Congressmen Raul Grijalva, James McGovern, Bobby Rush, Dennis Kucinich and every other signer of this woefully ignorant letter to sit on high — surrounded by the secure walls of freedom built by our strong Second Amendment rights — and dictate to oppressed citizens in other parts of the world that their lives would be better if they only had less freedom than we do in the United States.

Thankfully, these clueless representatives don’t speak for the majority of us. The NRA has been warning Americans about this ticking time bomb at the U.N. for over 15 years. Now it’s zero hour. Wayne LaPierre and I will be at U.N. headquarters in New York this week, fighting tooth and nail to protect the same constitution that Raul Grijalva and his pals swore an oath to uphold and defend.

And I can promise you, we won’t stop fighting until our Second Amendment freedoms are safe from this international disgrace.

Chris W. Cox is the Executive Director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) and serves as the organization’s chief lobbyist.”
