At 10 am this morning, for about two hours, a group of about 30 independent activists will gather on the White House lawn to demand the release of the Fast and Furious documents requested from Attorney General Eric Holder, but are currently being withheld under executive privilege. On Thursday, AG Holder was being held in criminal and civil contempt of Congress for withholding the documents, however the media has been spun in a bizarre direction, citing racism towards AG Holder as the true reason for the charges. The American people seem to have ignored the public hearings, available for viewing on youtube, because if they had watched them, they would know the accusations clearly have nothing to do with race.

Words Well-Said: Thoughts From Around the Web ‘Fast & Furious’ (with video)

24 Jun

Sometimes I see bits of wisdom, new perspectives, clever humor, and other fearless ways of dropping  serious knowledge bombs on FaceBook, comment sections, twitter, etc and I’d like to start sharing them.

This came from the FaceBook wall of a reader who wishes to remain anonymous. In a comment on a post about Fast and Furious on the reader’s wall, someone brought up “the race card,” in regards to the Eric Holder contempt charges, accusing the “other side” of using it. I personally have not seen any evidence indicating that this busted conspiracy is about race. I’ve heard theories supposedly held by right wing nuts, but they were so far from any popular theory I’ve heard, and didn’t come close to what the majority of the liberty movement  believes, that the ideas seem to have been propagated, or at least perpetuated, by the left to discredit those willing to say “the emperor has no clothes.”   This is what the TimeTimes reader had to say:

“All I’ll say on that is that I have seen both Caucasians and African Americans throw it around. It’s a ridiculous, intentionally divisive distraction that incites the nastiest side of humans, and prevents us from getting down to the real issue, which is that Eric Holder is a traitor and conspirator against the US. And with Obama having used executive privilege to hide what could be (is) incriminating documents, more suspicions are raised. It’s US the PEOPLE vs THEM the GOVERNMENT. We have to forget this petty shit. Oh and check it out, looks like Obama has used exec privilege with Holder in the past.”

Excerpts From thedailycaller.com:

“According to the Los Angeles Times, Holder drafted an “options memo” that allowed Clinton to grant commutations to the terrorists in the late 1990s when several high-ranking Department of Justice officials opposed the move. That options memo effectively facilitated clemency for those terrorists. Holder went against the DOJ’s Pardon Attorney Roger Adams’strong opposition to any clemency in several internal memos and a draft report recommending denial” and pushed to get the terrorists’ sentences commuted.”

“Though that memo itself is still protected by Clinton’s executive privilege and has not been made public, members of Clinton’s administration, including Holder, were allowed to talk about it and anything else to do with the pardons, commutations and grants of clemency after Clinton waived the executive privilege after leaving office.”

“Fast-forward to shortly after President Barack Obama was elected. He had nominated Holder to be the United States Attorney General and Cornyn was pressing him to testify about the details of those FALN terrorist commutations. When asked to testify about the options memo, Holder claimed under oath in the congressional record that he was “not authorized” to do so.” (my emphasis added)

The Associated Press: Texas jury convicts man in stand your ground case.

If it was a handgun and he had a permit, it’s NOT ILLEGAL TO CARRY IT, and it shouldn’t be the reason to convict someone in a self-defense case if the gun truly was reasonably used as self-defense. I’m so tired of these laws being implemented with the obvious goal being the eventual outlaw of guns. Our Bill of Rights is shrinking before our eyes, well not everyone’s eyes, not the eyes fixated on their I(suck)Phones. Eric Holder must love this.

Arrested For Spitting, Is this Singapore or the U.S.A.? Neither (And other ways we’re screwed)

Read “Florida Man arrested for Spitting on Sidewalk“and see video at TBO.com

Warning:  This piece is riddled with personal opinion, sarcasm, insults, political incorrectness, bad attitude, and a little foul language, but it does provide a nice handful of important information as well.  Enjoy!

Joseph Stoiber, a self-proclaimed insomniac, was out for an early a.m. stroll, talking on his cell phone, when a police officer approached him and questioned his motives for…gasp…walking around a supposedly free country.  The officer asked to pat him down, as he legally has the right to do, even though it is absurd and repugnant to the Constitution, but Joseph Stoiber refused, as he has every legal right to do because the cop had no probable cause.  The cop and the Stoiber started disputing the really simple, obvious legality of  Stoiber, an American citizen guilty of no crime, nor suspicious of committing any crime, walking about his own country in the morning hours and refusing a warrantless search.

“Things got heated” (read: Cop’s ego couldn’t handle legally being told “no” by a lowly citizen) and Stoiber was handcuffed.  He then committed the unthinkable crime of spitting on a sidewalk because he had chewing tobacco in his mouth.   Stoiber was then arrested, because it is illegal to spit on the sidewalk in Florida

Why The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty Is A Bad Idea

26 May

redplanetcartoons.com

First, let me be honest.  I’m not a constitutional scholar, and I need to read the treaties more thoroughly.  (But I’m not a constitutional lawyer either,  so that’s a plus.)  People will argue it does not violate any constitutional rights directly, and that may be true, I need to look closer.  But that is not what I’m arguing.
